Freezing apples for horses

Hi

Has anybody here ever frozen apples for horses? I am blessed with 8 apple trees which from August to December earn their keep and by this time of the year you cannot walk around them for wind falls! I can only make som nay apple crumbles .... And the horses really enjoy the apples.. So was wondering if I could freeze them and use the resulting pulp to liven up boring winter food? (horses are both good doers, so only get chaff and hay!) Or does changes happen to a frzen apple that would make it unsuitable for horses?

as long as it is defrosted will be fine I often put it in with boiled barley the girls love it

They will be fine,my tree this year was over loaded with them, we have frozen some but also wrapped and stored in the dark, which is another good way of keeping them.

If you store them properly they will easily last for several months, I keep loads and feed them through the winter.
