I get cold legs after riding as I do not have any warm jods at the moment but I do warm up once moving around plenty, but it does take a while.
Perhaps you need to invest in some woolly jods.
What I will be mostly wearing in the blizzards, snow and ice in Highlands of Scotland.
Thermal trousers from Lidl - like ski pants or just ski pants
Thick tights underneath
Thermal vest
Wool polo neck jumper
Thermal fleece over the top
Duck down gilet
Hoggs Waxed lined padded shooting coat
Wool thermal hat that covers ears
Hood up on wax jacket
Thermal Motorcycle socks
Suffolk Tuffa sheepskin lined boots
Thermal Gloves
If you don't wear a warm hat, do - makes a very big difference IMO. Also try something like these: fleece thermal insoles to stop the cold travelling up from your feet.
Well -8 here and I've done my lads - in jeans, a T shirt and fleece with no gloves or hat. But I do have good thick boots.
Must be a woman thing. My OH gets distressed by the cold - I'm generally cold too but it doesn't distress me the way it does her - I just get on with it.
Actually - my secret
- I make sure that I have a decent meal and a hot drink before going out to do the horses - and in the morning a good breakfast like a big bowl of real porridge - it really does make all the difference.
I bought some Tresspass ski pants for £18 new off Ebay and they are brill. They fit over my jods and wellys and have the braces so they dont fall down.
Quilted coveralls over everything and fleece neck warmers do it for me, plus a hat, wool socks and clumpy wellies with foil lined insoles, proof to -50C. I AM Mrs Michelin and as I am always warm I don't care a jot what I look like.
I ride in that lot too, can't get on if I get off mind!
