Freshly Qualified Vets - Do you trust them? *Rant Warning*

MrsD123- my experience was at Edinburgh Dick Vet, the uni hospital. No idea of specific training but these were final year students (about 8 of them) being overseen by one of the teaching vets.

My mare has spend a significant amount of the last 12 months at this hospital as a in patient. My problem wasn't with the students, it was with the supposed highly qualified vet - the expert in their field apparently who couldn't diagnose a simiple condition, despite the fact that my own vet at home had identified it on the x-rays. It resulted in me almost making the decision to PTS after infection after infection could not be identified..

However my own vet at home was trained at this university and I would not use any other vet - he is absolutely superb.
