Frickers formula..

my friend has used it.... but found it sent the horses a little nuts... be careful it's quite high sugar/ cereal. I believe they do a show pony mix that may not be.

Another feed that doesn't list the sugar component of the overall calorie count. There isn't an analysis at all for many of the feeds - but recommending a 10MjKg feed as suitable for light work is - in my view - downright irresponsible. Looking at their "featured riders" and recommended feeds - Tiny tots base line as suitable for horses at top level competition AND rest / light work?

I accept I had not heard of this feed - but having looked at their website not only would I not feed it - I also think a lot less of those few riders who have chosen to be associated with it.

Oh - and it doesn't seem to be NOPS accredited to any competition rider feeding it is taking a fair risk.

It tends to be marketed to/used by the showing community.
I think that tells you all you need to know about the calorie levels.

Interesting that the eventing rider comments on the BETA/NOPs " I also want a complete ration that is simple to feed for many different horses and is competition legal (BETA/ NOPS ) approved "

Interestingly a few feeds often recommended on H&H aren't in the nops list.
Sorry for being slightly off topic OP

So they do... but Frickers are not listed as a participating feed company by BETA - here http://www.beta-uk.org/pages/feed-safety/beta-nops-scheme.php#companies nor do they display the logo.

Obviously not an issue for anyone not competing at a level where they are likely to be tested. I just like to know what is in the stuff I feed. You can get some serious rubbish in some feeds. So I get a bit of a bee in my bonnet over suppliers who either can't or won't list a full nutritional analysis.

Yes, it's nice not to be restricted by the NOPS list, I'm sure we could make do but the only thing I currently feed on the list is the linseed.

Yes, I looked at the list - wonder how often it's updated. I also feed linseed off the list and some dengie but equimins are not listed which surprises me. Is there a fee to be nops registered too? Some companies are very aware of FEI prohibited substances and go out of their way to recommend their products accordingly but aren't NOPs registered either.
