Vibes please for friends horsey

she was out hacking, straight road, HI-VIS kit on, perfectly behaved and a car came up behind fast,

she waved them to slow down, but they just crashed into the back of them

said he never even saw them

horsey had to have 65 stitches on legs and back end, and friend came off and is bruised and shaken but otherwise ok

There are so many B***** idiots on the road, far to many car drivers in a rush to get to A to B. What does the law do to these's Idiots when they cause pain and harm to horse & rider, when the driver is at fault... (((((( healing vibes ))))))

I hope the horse makes a full recovery and your friend is ok.

I hope the driver (Stupid F***ing idiot) gets punished suitably. Were the police called Tinkerbee?

Hate going out at certain times of the day in case of this.I was hit by a car walking Malaga to work 18mnths ago, again driver going too fast down narrow country lane with the sun in her eyes.

Jesus, that is my absolute worst nightmare and the reason why I avoid roads like the plague whenever possible.

Your poor friend and her horse must be totally traumatised by this. How terrifying for them both. Just glad that it wasn't even worse.

Please pass on my very best wishes to your friend to wish them both a full recovery and tell them how sorry I am to hear of this dreadful accident.

hope that both make full recovery and that the police were called and hang draw and quarter the driver (or at least have his eyesight tested, drugs test, drink test and prosecution)

BS he never saw her if she had a high vis kit on.

Is the driver covering all the bills?,

Ditto, what a load of tosh. He was probably not paying attention.

Please keep us up to date, as I hope they make the driver squirm!

Pass on my best wishes to horse and rider.

Please pass on best wishes to your friend and healing vibes for her horse x
It is stories like this that scare the [****] out of me for going on the roads. Sadly where we are I have no choice.
I hope the driver gets punished too because quite frankly unless there was sun glare/bushes etc the driver has no excuse at all because the rider was wearing hi viz and therefore taking all the correct precautions.
She also attempted to slow the driver down as well.
I feel very sad for her and her horse and the only consolation is that the horse is alive but it is the mental scars it leaves behind both in your friend and the horse that will take longer to heal.
I hope this b*stard has agreed to pay for everything at the very least seeing as the accident was his fault!
best wishes
Caroline x

I HATE riding on the roads now, especially if I hear the car behind is not slowing down.

My horse doesnt seem bothered by it though.

The car hit us in 1993 and I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Healing vibes to both your friend and her horse, they need plenty of time to come to terms with what has happened. I hope the police had been called, if not it certainly needs reporting, make sure it's reported to the BHS aswell.

The same thing happened to me but in 1995 sadly my horse had to be PTS at the scene. I panic in my car if something comes up fast behind me, i hate riding on the roads now. Big hugs to your friend and their horsey

Lots of good wishes to both. Hope horse isn't too traumatised by it.
I met a really good driver today (just to restore faith). Narrow lane, towing caravan. They actually stopped by the only bit where the verge widens, so we could walk past. Yes, I did thank them!!

Sorry to hear about the accident and I hope that both horse and rider make a quick recovery.

Could I ask you to ask you friend to complete the BHS accident form as we need to know the details of any accidents that occur on the roads so that we have figures and statistics when negotiating with the government and local authorities for improved off road riding.
