just got back from the most amazing week at pony club camp yesterday and on the way home my friends pony (who normally travels amazingly!!!) seized up. there was loads of banging and sometimes my baby kind of looses her legs and bangs to get her self sorted so we just carried on. when we had to stop for petril about 20 mins from home we checked they where both ok and my friends pony was dripping with sweat, the floor was drenched and she was stood up the suddenly she just fell over over onto the partition with back legs spread out got up and did it again about 3 or 4 times before we left the petrol station. before anyone asks it was impossible to get them out as was on a mega busy road in a very busy petrol station. my friend wasn;t travelling with us so i phoned her crying my eyes out scared to death. carried on got home got her out the trailor and she was nearly hoping on her legs. me and another friend (not owner of horse) thought she could have colic when we got her out or azoturia so phoned the vet straight away. vet got here and everything inside her (gut noise, temp and breathing) was fine, and all she said was keep her on box rest with bute. the vet was useless and only repeated what i had told her lol!

it really rattled me and i'm just wondering if anyone has ever had a similar experiance and maybe explain why she may have been like this. her and my horse have travelled together loads and always in the same trailor so really would like an explanasion if anyone knows what it could be!

thanks and sorry for the huge essay

she seems absolutely fine now. just on box rest with a swollen leg. nothing wrong inside of her if that makes sense. was very very scary especially as she isn't ours and they had got home early to get things sorted for when we got back! she didn't do any poos last night aparently though but when iw as there this afternoon she looked happy enough! so very very very strange and don't think she will enjoy travelling for a long time!
