This is a unique opportunity to learn from the experts about this breed if anyone has an interest.
IBOP Training Clinic.
Saturday 7th April 2012 9am - 5pm
Myerscough College Preston.
With Sybren Minkema & Jolanda Schreuder
This is a unique opportunity to learn from two of Hollands leading Friesian trainers about the requirements of the IBOP test. There will be a practical session in the morning followed by time in the classroom in the afternoon reviewing and analysing the tests.
The objective of the testing is to determine as objectively as possible the aptitude and suitability of a horse for certain uses.
Every horse four years and older can be entered for the testing. The IBOP offers three different tests: dressage under saddle (saddle test), dressage in harness (driving test), and the harness test (show- driving test). Participation in more than one test on the same day is possible. An IBOP test can be part of the awarding of the ster, crown or model predicates
Until recently there has not been the demand in the UK for the test to be performed here and horses have had to travel over to Holland to take part. With an increasing number of people now expressing an interest we would like to invite judges from the KFPS to a testing day here in 2012 or 2013. Those interested in taking part should not miss this opportunity to learn more about the test.
Sybren & Jolanda will be advising and training on all three of the tests, Dressage, Driving and Show Driving. So far we know of a number of members interested in the dressage test and have enough horses available to take part in the training. If you are interested in the driving tests, have a horse and carriage you are able to bring along on the day please contact me as soon as possible (tracey@blackhorses.co.uk) so we can allocate enough time to this.
Further information is available on the website along with details of the test requirements.
Tickets are £5.00 for members and £10.00 for non-members. To reserve your place please email tracey@blackhorses.co.uk.
Cheques should be made payable to 'Friesian Horse Association of GB & Ireland' and sent to: Greenbank Farm, Aynsome Lane, Cartmel, Cumbria. LA11 7ST
