Thought you might like to see some before and after pics of my 2 retired pones - went to see them today, they're looking great, Tom (the coloured cob) is rather on the porky side going into Spring but given he's already lived longer than he was supposed what the heck! Its a bit difficult to regulate a 24/7 turned out eating machine!

Sorry for the mahoooooosive pics!

lol! Its great to see them so happy and they still come running when I appear - the bag of apples might have something to do with it!

Aww bless them, my youngster looks very similar like a fluffy polar bear who's been dipped in a swamp, lol so long as they are enjoying themselves

wow, there is hope for our mud monsters! They are both absolutely gorgeous (now and then). It is amazing how much smaller they look in the rough to how they looked when poshed up. They both look very happy and well cared for.

Thanks guys! They're both 13/14, retired due to injury/arthritis rather than age (there's a whole bottle of wine and box of maltesers worth of story there!) but I'm very lucky to have found Nicola at Copper Beeches - as you can see they're very happy! Miss them both so much though

Ha, that's nothing! My old girl, also retired, likes to go bog snorkling. Sometimes there is only a patch the size of a racing saddle on her back that isn't completely dripping. She grinds the mud into all sorts of nooks and crannies and comes in with clumps of mud and grass decorating her mane. As soon as I have finished grooming her she is upside down in the mud. She hates being clean and pretty!

She has also rather exceeded her expected life. Rising 27 this year, the vet wanted to put her down when she was 12 - sadly she has even outlived him now. Never give up on them!
