From stallion to gelding, passport change

I'm just about to do the change of ownership for my mini, he's registered as a stallion but his previous owners had him gelded at 9, 3 years ago! so when I do the change of ownership, can I send the castration cert and get the passport amended to say Gelding?

I've tired to call them today but I was too late, so does anyone else know the answer?

not sure who does it- my boy was a racer, and on the front page of his passport is just a red stamp across it saying 'gelding since registration'
