I wonder if any one can help shed some light on my friends horses lameness.
He is a 15hh arab type x 6 years old. Has been shod badly previously but new farrier is bringing the heals up and shaping the feet much better. 6 weeks ago he was ridden on hard ground did some fast work on moors which is pretty hard but when walking spooked at something and appeared to be lame from then. He was turned out but in morning he would not weight bare on that leg. Vet was called removed shoe no signs of bruises or abcesses advised bute box rest could be fracture to pedal bone. No heat present but both front feet pulsing. Next day much improved after 5 days of bute waited another 2 days and turned him out altho he was not quite sound..advised by vet to do so he got worse. Farrier came out said could be lami as he was weighty and cresty advised to keep him in for 10 days. Again he improved the next day farrier been out since put shoe back on and said he should be fine but he is actually lame but 1/10 in trot straight line. They are going to x ray next but interested in peoples thoughts. Thankyou
