Hi guys I'm new to this so hopefully posting in the right place! My horse has very itchy feet, will stamp the ground, itch them on the gate and rub his legs together, reading other forums about front line spray, where abouts do you spray it? I'm worried that if I spray on the backs of his feathers he will go to itch his legs with his teeth and get the spray in his mouth? Any advice would be highly greatful

Frontline spray is a POM so you'd need to get it from the vets, who will give you instructions. The spot on version is much easier to use (and not POM). If you buy a different brand instead of Frontline (I use Effipro) it's cheaper (and comes in handy 4 packs rather than 3packs)

Thank you! I did think about the spot on but reading pervious threads most people said the spray is better and/or more effective? And thank you for letting me know about the cheaper one :)

Spray is the only thing that'd been tested for mites and therefore the vet HAS to recommend it first as part of the cascade. It does work but it's really hard to get onto heavily feathered legs properly (I've tried a few times). Spot on is so easy. XL dog pipette per leg (for a larger cob) and it takes seconds.
Decotmax injections are the most effective but require a vet.

My HW hairy has been a chronic mite sufferer in the past. He's now 13 (with scaring to his legs) but totally managed. He's kept fully clipped out (might work without ?). His lower legs are regularly washed with Selsun (cheap option for selenium sulphide shampoo). Then, roughly once every 4/5 months I spray lower legs with frontline and repeat again 12-14 days later. I do about 8-10 sprays on each leg & massage in with surgical gloves!
