It was just fab ! We could only ride over the fields as the lanes were so icy, the scenery was just lovely. Anyone else been out this morning ? :)

Since the rain has dried up, I've managed to get out every day (so far), which is just as well as The Boy has just had a full clip and i was starting to feel it was for nothing.

One of mine has not long been back in work so have been doing the walking thing every day with little bursts of trot. We had our first canter since May yesterday. Me dressed as Santa, him dressed up in tinsel. Was lovely :)

Rode today for the first time in weeks, the weather has been awful up here, but today was lovely, sunny and no wind, rode up into the woods were there is a lovely view of the sea and mountains, was just great!

Would so loved to have ridden today, but stupid horse is not right, think he has bruised a foot being a prized wally out in the field, no consideration for Mother!!!!!:(

I was so excited to ride today, i spent ages grooming, tacking up and making her look respectable. Did a lap round the field before we left for her hack and she fell down a brand new rabbit hole ): thankfully shes alright now but stumbled around on her nose and knees, refusing to fall over!

Had a quick schooling session yesterday (as limited on time!) but had a lovely 1 1/2 hour hack with my daughter this morning! :-) I so wish the ground would dry up a bit though as there are so few places to have a decent blast at the mo! :)

I have ridden for 2 hours today, around lunchtime as had to wait for the ice to thaw!! To say it's a wee bit cold is an understatement, I thought my toes were going to fall off!! My sister bought me a pair of Sealskinz gloves for Xmas so my hands were nice and warm!! First time in a week that I've been able to ride, so little mare was a bit spooky for the first 10 mins, especially when we came across a load of Xmas rubbish that someone (insert rude words) had dumped in the hedge this morning. She soon settled though, so we had a relaxing walk around the country lanes. Could see snow across the Severn on the Brecon Beacons!! Winter has only just begun I think :-)

We went for a short pootle this afternoon (partly to try out sisters new hat cam). Both girls took exception to the neighbours geldings clattering about cimbing out of a container in their field as we past, then sisters big mare was cross at being made to spook and was as super sensible as ever, my Appy thuought it was fun and so continued to spook (mainly at nothing) for the rest of the ride :D

hubby and me had a lovely hack this mrning. horses full off (runner) beans and it was lovely. however my toes were frozen within the first 20 minutes.

Had a lovely ride today, did some lovely lateral work, she has really got the hang of canter leg yielding. I think I am going to have to get some brave pants and start jumping as she jumped the poles that were lying on the ground and was asking me whether she could go over the proper jumps.

Went out for a couple of hours this afternoon....sunny, chilly and still frosty in the woods.
Lad hasn't been ridden for about ten days ago was very on his toes, had a massive spook at a pheasant flapping out of the undergrowth but then settled nicely. Think he's due his teeth doing though, did a bit of head tossing which is usually him telling me to get him booked in ):

Roll on spring..he's a right fluffy mess..in truth I don't get chance enough to ride over winter to make clipping worth the time, but my fingers are starting to twitch ;)

Know how you feel pines of rome - I had planned a nice afternoon hack with a friend as it's been a lovely day here. However my girl came in minus a front shoe and very footsore so no riding for me until I can get the farrier out - which may not be until after new year as I think they are on holiday right through the festive period. :(

Could be a lot worse though so I am just thankful it came off cleanly and did not rip her hoof to bits.
Hope your horse recovers from bruised sole and you are back in the saddle soon.

Had a lovely time today riding my big lad and leading my old lady. Had to plan my route due to the frost and ice but it was beautiful. Wish the forecast for tomorrow was better so we could go again!

Aww, lovely!

We ventured out this afternoon in the sunshine - only walk & trot, as we've had so many problems under saddle ridden in the past, we've spent the last year going right back to basics on the ground. We've only been back riding together about 3 months, so it was nice to be out - he was very brave about going past fallen trees & didn't bat an eyelid when two terrier dogs came running up & barking around his legs.

Just one small buck too - for a pony that could have previously worked as a cowboy rodeo pony, I was very pleased (especially as the stormy weather has meant reduced turn out).

Much love for my pony, today. X

And I've got photographic evidence if anybody wants a laugh / cry :wink3:
