I'm really frustrated with myself at the moment . I've got myself a little box t get out and about in and have a new cob ( as well as my favourite boy although his fitness is hit and miss) but I dont have the confidence to go anywhere on my own. I'm not really sure what the exact problem is ( will have a think though) but its very annoying. I really want to have a go at some pleasure rides, bit of showing etc . There are a few lovely people who are happy to meet up with me, travel with me etc but I don't like feeling that I have to rely on them and don't think it's particularly fair on them.

Moan over, I know I need to just have a go on my own.

Personally I would accept the help from your friends to start with to get you going. I really doubt they would mind if they have offered. Maybe then just set yourself little targets. Take you and cob off in lorry for a lovely little hack somewhere and build up like that.

Go on, just do it. :) Go somewhere mid week, where you know it will be quiet. Somewhere you know the route there well and that the parking is easy (take a trip in your car first if you want to be doubly sure). Its brilliant to go off out on your own with your horse, I think it makes you feel like real compadres. :D
