Does anyone know how the sizing works with waterproof full chaps?

I thought that Small might be 10 - 12 but having ordered a set of Rhinegold ones online that were a Small they won't go near me - although these were suede ones which I didn't realise when I ordered them so wondered perhaps if they were maybe smaller made?

Looking specifically at the Dublin, Beltane, Shires or Equenox ones - anyone have an idea of sizing and what size I'd need to order for a size 12?

From my experience, sizing full chaps by mail order is a total nightmare. The size of your thighs, leg length, waist and calf measurements are all important. They are one of those things you have just got to try on - support your local retailer - though I do notice you are in a remote area! Sorry this isn't much help. But I do recommend trying on. I made my own from a pattern bought by mail order from the US - it was easier in the end what with my fat thighs and short legs!

full chaps are really one of the things that you have to try before you buy, i find that different makes are all very different in sizing, and obviously quality have a pair of the harry halls that fit well, but the bit that clips together round waist is useless as its far to big, and doesnt hold together well, the rambo ones are good, well lasting quite true to size i think and very comfy!

Thanks guys! Going to see if I can try on my friends Small equenox ones - I think they'll be too small if I'm honest!

Unfortunately, the tack shops round here don't seem to be stocking them just now - might have to order some and return them if they don't fit!

Try looking at the manufacturer websites e.g Prochaps who do half and full chaps and from memory they list their sizes/measurements quite well.

(Not sure what type you are looking for but I have a pair of full length neoprene Prochaps which I bought last year and loved but but will be looking to sell as they no longer fit me.)
