can any one confirm to me that the hooks are for the cheek pieces and not the reigns or am i totally wrong?! i had a full blown argument with a girl on my yard who has nothing to do with my horse and now im questioning it! lol . i thought the hooks were for more poll pressure there fore should be attached to the cheek pieces. if im wrong, some one please correct me.

Yeah they only have one set of hooks not 2 like the myler comfort snaffle with hooks. so im not crazy?

Correct

If only one set of hooks they are definitely for the cheeks.

Actually one of Myler's ambitions was to get the bit sitting correctly in the mouth, so technically a single joint sat properly on hooks should not stab a horse in the roof of the mouth.

I'm still not crazy about single joints though.

I hope you haven't followed the advice given previously, as it is incorrect! The hooks are for the reins, and definitely NOT for the cheeks. The off-set tops of the spindle are to accomodate the Fulmar loops, if used, and also to prevent rubbing. This information is all set out,in detail, in the Myler handbook.
