Doing my head in. I can see full cheek french link's in SS and sweet iron single jointed in full cheeks...but that's not what I want!

I don't mind if the centre lozenge is a copper one, but I'd like to try the full cheeks over the loose ring.

Likewise....can you buy loose ring waterfords in sweet iron?

We should make them!!!!

I've found this, a Neue Schule but I don't know if the content of their bits is as favourable as sweet iron.

Neue Schule do full cheek waterford and a lozenge bits but they are not cheap!

How about a full cheek copper roller?

Or a magennis:

They may stop her leaning on the bit whilst providing some copper content. You can buy twisted mouth sweet iron bits, but I personally don't like them. Couldn't find any sweet iron waterfords.
You could try ringing the bit bank and see what they suggest.

The Neue Schule one I found was £49. That's not that bad.

In the KK version it's £124.

Emmm...I thought nothing of spending £600 on her saddle and nearly £800 on Tweenie's saddle...why am I finding the thought of spending £100 on a bit makes me choke?

She's currently ridden in a D ring single jointed snaffle with copper roller

She's not bad in this bit but after an hour or so hacking she starts leaning a lot, no matter how many stretches I allow her to have. If I want to do some long distance rides this year, I am eager to find a bit that she doesn't lean on quite so much. Just fine tuning really.

I can't believe you can't get a full cheek french link in sweet iron. Very weird.

I've got one of those (wrong size for Patches) but I was hoping to find a full cheek version. Haven't seen one as yet. Very annoying.

As it happens I know where there's a workshop full of welders and the likes. Just not sure how good at welding my trusty sidekick (Duncan) is.

I like the look of those Lucy. However, I'm sat here wondering WHY I've got it in my head to try a full cheek...Patches knows her left from her right!

Oh it's so hard and when I've phoned a few places they just tell me to try a hanging cheek or a waterford.

Maybe I should just buy a waterford (the correct size this time tut tut) to begin with. The one I have is on gag rings and I think it's a bit severe for general hacking and schooling.

I have a waterford question next......oooo I'm being VERY blonde tonight!

I ride my mare in a stainless steel fulmer, but was recommended to try sweet iron. Like you I couldn't find one so bought a loose ring snaffle with sweet iron mouth and copper dots and she goes lovely in it, but she's never strong anyway. If you find a reasonably priced sweet iron full cheek let me know!!

I can find a sweet iron full cheek, but only single jointed.

I don't think full cheek, sweet iron French Link Snaffles exist sadly. I've gone for a Neue Schule bit in the end. In for a penny....in for £60 I say!!! LOL
