I was thinking this year to get turnout boots for my full feathered cob, he's only short, about 13.3h. I tried equichaps on him but i can't find a size that fit round his legs and feathers without having to cover his entire knee!
Now i'm having second thoughts, i've heard a lot about people having issues with putting boots on feathered horses, i was just wondering if anyone had either suggestions for good boots, or alternatively experiences with using boots on feathered horses, good or bad. I can't risk any feather rubbing off as once he's learnt to walk in a straight line with me sat on him i'm hoping to show him :)

Thanks for your help
:)

Is there any particular reason you want turnout boots for him? only saying as I expect his feathers will be enough to protect his legs from the mud :)

Why are you thinking of using turnout boots on him?
If he has full feathers they will protect his legs against knocks and mud and wet getting to his skin.
I only tried turnout boots once on my mud fever prone TB but all they did was make his leags sweaty and the mud got in underneath (Equilibrium close contact chaps) so they were promptly sold and we reverted back to pig oil and sulphur.
