Going to start riding again soon after over 6 months (broke leg v badly in accident). I lost one half of my lovely 20 yr old chaps in the accident too :( I don;t know what make they were, but were fairly tight fitting on the leg (I'm kind of average/slim), quite tough suede/leather. Any recommendations?

I would highly recommend Equino Chaps. Wearing mine for the 3rd winter now and they still look brand new. Fabulous quality, tough leather, really keep you warm and dry and comfortable as anything to ride in.
They may not be the cheapest but they are hand made in the UK and will probably last a lifetime

Thanks - have looked at those and they look fabulous, but I'm not sure I can afford them at the moment.

I have Gibbins full suede chaps - they are nice and close fitting and very hard wearing- I also have some denim FitFit chaps which are fun for summer and some Mountain Horse fleece lined waterproof ones which are really warm for cold snaps.

My farrier said his are gibbins chaps. Looked them up and they are the best part of £200. May invest in some really expensive ones if I can't get some secondhand... thanks

I bought secondhand - I think I paid under £20 for mine - so trawl ebay and preloved good luck
