To set the scene of the yard - very small private yard, brick stables, tack and feed room. All year round turnout. Excellent hacking but no school etc.
What would you expect to pay for the following:-
In winter - horse fed am plus haynet, rug changed, turned out, mucked out, brought in, fed, water changed, hay again, rugs changed again, groomed. Occasional riding if required - say 2 x per week.
This would include ad lib hay, hard feed and shavings bedding. The only extras would be veterinary bills, farrier and worming (and dentist/physio if ever needed).
Mainly 5 days a week, part DIY on weekends though feed/hay/shavings would still be provided, and possibly either feeding/rugs/turnout on the morning or bringing in feeding and rug change on the evening.
We have a friend who wants a horse on full livery - with us, and we want it on a proper footing so we all know what is done and when and a reasonable charge for it.
I'm anticipating that if she buys something similar to ours - we will go through 1 large bale of hay/week between 4 of us, 1 bale of shavings each a week plus hard feed. Stable rent is £60 per month for the stable and use of field. Oh shavings are £5 per bale, hay £25 per bale, would be fed on most likely speedi beet, alfa A oil and mix like the rest!
Need ideas folks!
