Since I'm now employed again, I have a better idea of when I can move my boy/s up, so am again looking for livery suggestions for the Leeds area.

My requirements are:
Full livery (or part, with extras, due to work hours)
Preferably close to Morley
Will take cribbers (Obie)

I'm now looking at moving him up possibly mid to end of October/beginning of November, but I could turn him out in Cheshire for the winter with the others if need be, and move him in the spring.

I did try contacting a few on fb but have had little luck in either getting responses, or actual answers to the questions I need (or, in one case, as soon as I asked if I could visit they stopped replying), so turning here again for a bit of help!

Am missing my lovely boys and can't wait to get at least one of them here with me.

Thanks all!

Hi,

If you're looking for full livery Morley way i would suggest Yorkshire Equine Clinic, it's worth putting you're name down asap. Other than that there is a place in New Farnley on the same road as Back Lane riding school (so horse must be good in traffic as it can be a fast road) I can't think of the name of it but can find out, it's not as good as the YEC but does offer full livery.

Having quite a bit of trouble finding any real details on it, other than possibly a post code. Location-wise, it's prefect. Don't suppose you have any contact details for them?

Afraid he's hit and miss in traffic, so the second is probably not ideal.

Depends on your definition of "close" tbh. Swithens farm in Rothwell is 15 mins drive from Morley (either by M62 or can just go A650 tbh) and as far as I'm aware they will take cribbers. I'd recommend going full livery rather than part though as when i was DIY there and asked for the odd thing doing here and there it did get forgotten about a lot (whereas on full a staff member will be assigned your horse for the day so it will actually get done) I will warn you that the winter turnout areas are very small although they do have adlib hay and will turn out in most weathers. Also the general state of the fencing isn't great. There are roads to cross to get to the best hacking but aside from Rothwell high street most aren't too bad. Think there are a fair few yards in / near Morley itself but most of ones I know of are on busy roads sadly or are full (been a few yard closures in the area I think)

I could also give you details of a yard in Methley who offer part livery 20 mins drive from centre of Morley (via M62) if interested but depends what services you need and what facilities you're looking for

I think their website is down but i know they are still open as i have friends on there ( I work about 5 minutes away)

If you are willing to travel I keep my horse in Colton which has it's own access onto Temple Newsam so the hacking is amazing, yard is ok and we do have all year turnout, very chilled and laid back atmosphere, grazing isn't amazing but i will warn you, the areas you are wanting generally have poor grazing :-(

Although Colton looks far it takes me about 20 minutes on an evening to get there from work - and that's at 5 o'clock, so time wise it's really not bad.

I've been on a few yards around Morley / Gildersome so if you want any info let me know, i can send you my email address so I can answer a bit quicker.

What side of Leeds are you after. Also if you look on fb for livery west Yorkshire there are quite a few adverts on there. You could put a wanted ad on it?
