Hi, I’m interested in full loaning a horse, just wanted to know a few of the logistics to it. A riding school I used to go to has got spaces, I was wondering if loan horses could be on working livery (if agreed with the owner of course) if not I would be looking into part livery is this where they will do mornings you do evenings or do they do certain days a week and you do others?
I currently share a horse and used to help out at that riding school so have experience with the care of horses, so feel like this would be a good next step.
I was also trying to work out a rough cost of a horse I know emergencies do pop up though. (Currently £180 a month + £150/£250 livery depending) wanted to know if this was about right. And how much horse insurance is and what it actually covers a little unsure
Sorry for all the questions quite new to this all!

As a loanee you would be responsible for all costs. So livery, shoeing, vaccinations, tack, rugs, feed / bedding if not in livery contract, insurance and any incidental vets fees. You can find a breakdown of costs here http://www.bhs.org.uk/advice-and-in...uying-a-horse/cutting-cost-without-compromise

A loan can be on working livery if the contract allows for it - but that would be quite rare. Working livery isn't universally favoured - although there are some where it works the majority do not. Full loan from a charity will not allow for working livery.
