I'm not a particularly "fuller" filly, but I have muscley calves and struggle to find boots to fit. Currently have a pair of Kanyon Gorse X-rider which are lovely and comfy but I'd like a taller, smarter looking boot for everyday riding. Have been looking at the Fuller Fillies field boot in the tan, I'm not generally a big fan of tan but I'm struggling to find anything suitable for a decent price and these look ok. Would love to hear some reviews if anybody has a pair! Or otherwise suggestions of other boots that might be ok, the others I have seen are a pair of Horka field boots? Thanks :-)

You could also have a look at Tuffa boots, who have several styles of long boot in a range of calf sizes.

Also, have a look at the Ariat website. Most retailers only stock the most common sizes, but some of their boots come in a wide range of calf size. While I generally need full, side or extra wide boots, I only need a medium in Ariats.

I'm just looking at the artist website now but I don't understand the selections...you select a size then it asks for calf...and then width? What's calf?!

I have the same problem and just recently went shopping. Equitector boots look fab, as does the Ovation Flex Plus field boot. The Equitectors would have been my first choice but I got an unbeatable price on a pair of TuffRider Plus field boots. (I don't know what they're like yet, they're coming in the mail.)

Love My Fuller Fillies, and I do live in them. love the fact that I can wear thick socks in the winter under them and they can stretch over my fat calves. walk for miles in them with daughters pony on lead rein. I have the Storm Country boots

Normal long boots just don't fit my calves, so I got some of the fuller fillies long boots and I love them. I was the smallest calf size they do but they fit really well and have lasted well, done showing, dressage and xc in them.

I'm coming round to the Fuller Fillies one, have also discovered that I think there's a few pairs of mountain horse that will fit me but there isn't anywhere local to me that stocks them so can't try before I buy :-(

I bought equitector- have them made to measure. I wasn't impressed to be honest. Not great on the seals/seams and the fit was a bit rubbish given the money paid. I use them as wellies but not when the weather is very wet. I wouldn't waste my money on another pair.

Mums the groom, can I ask about your Storm Country boots? I got a pair of them in the spring and they fit fine in the foot, but the leather at the ankle is extremely stiff and causes blisters on my ankle bone whenever I wear them. Did yours have a breaking-in period? I wasn't sure if they were meant to be broken in like regular tall boots or not, either with leather stretching spray or the good old bathtub method.

Just make sure they are the leather ones and not the synthetic ones! I had the leather ones but the zip never stayed up so I sold them to someone with a thinner calf and they were fine. I got another pair thinking they were leather but they were the synthetic ones and they are woefully uncomfortable and cause blisters and have cracked at the toe.

I didn't like either pairs if I'm honest and only keep the synthia ones for "shows"

Thanks everybody, in the end I bought a pair of Mountain Horse Regency in wide, hallelujah they do up - they are actually a little bit big so I've ordered another pair in a regular calf but I am doubtful they'll fit. I think I'm somewhere between the two sizes

equi, I wonder if somehow I got the synthetic version? They smell like real leather, and they were advertised that way. The Storm Country boots also seem much bigger in the foot (more than an inch in toe space) than my dress boots do, despite being the same size. It's very odd.

I wonder why the leather in my pair is so stiff. Maybe I'll try the leather stretching spray and see what happens- I'd really like to be able to wear them. It just seems so strange that they fit so much differently from my dress boots, when both are Fuller Fillies.

Procrastination, those are great boots!

Could be. I'm 99% sure I ordered the leather ones but owner basically said not going to do anything even tho I told her they cracked within two or three wears. V unhelpful.

Equi, I sympathise. I have had a similar experience with Fuller Fillies half-chaps - over-priced, not fit for purpose and awful customer service. I wouldn't recommend FF/Plus In Boots to anyone.

I don't have long boots but for those of you looking for half chaps or gaiters I bought some Just Chaps leather saltos gaiters. I wanted to try them but they have so many sizes then ran into them at Badminton. They are super comfy, have good elastic on the bottom and come in different width/lengths. I have the medium length and an 5'7'' and they are just right. If you're any shorter go for the short length or they'll cut into the back of your knee. Tangential I know but it may help someone looking!
