Just wondering about costings. Im considering moving south near to coast (dorset, devon, cornwall, new forest area) and my horse is on full livery. This is what i get at the mo:

10 stables, all full livery - adults
12x12 with rubber matting and atuo waters
20m x40m outdoor school,
30m lunging ring
80m x 80m derby arena - grass (banks, water, ditches etc)
60x 40m jumping ring - grass
post / electric paddocks divided into groups of 3.
include shoes with stud holes (holes during summer only)
feed (mix or nuts, chaff and beet or something similar - cool mix riding club mix type only - comp / speciality feed and suppliments extra)
hay or hayledge
shavings

service includes:
usual service +
tack cleaning 3x p/week,
complete grooming every day, + main / tail pulling when needed,
clipping (during winter only)
rugs washed and reproofed once a year

they run a 3 day show once a month during the summer.
The groom is a very good rider, and can school at £20 p/h, or lunge at £10

is there anyone with a similar service that can tell me what they pay?

Thanks

we are cornwall..just opposite plymouth and we offer full livery for £60 per week which will go up when the school is finished...however it would stay the same if you didnt want the school...just £5 per hour when you want it...

full livery includes:
stabling
grass
straw (shavings extra)
hay
turn outs and turn ins..when you want...also we dont include feed in that as all horses diffrerent...
exercising extra.....

we have 4 1/2 mile off road track, plus feilds to play and gallop in.....(300 acres)
excellent hacking out, beach access when required..two beaches whitsands and cawsand

and just being built is a 60 x 40 sandschool....

thanks.

I suppose you can you do tack cleaning, clipping, pulling etc ? if so what do you charge?

I work in events so only have time to ride really, and weekends Im usualy at work, so would need everything done for me.

I have a yard in Somerset and charge £85 for full livery, this includes:

high quality haylage
basic hard feed
shavings
turn out/bring in
use of walker
use of 20x40 outdoor arena

Full livery including exercise 4/5 times a week, tack cleaning, etc is £120.

been scouting the internet, found one similar to mine, beautifull stables and walker. few XC fences instead of arena but thats about it. They are also putting up another 30x 60m school.

they charge £550 p/m.

is this about right?

Around Southampton you're looking at about £100/week for that. They call it Part Livery. A yard that I know very well that does the services I don't think would groom your horse for you (except pick out feet when brought in) unless you also paid for riding which would be £150 /week. Not sure if all the yards are the same.

we could do all of that aswell....at a negotiated fee...it wouldnt bother us that you would only come to ride...thats what we are there for......

To make you feel better - around the M25 zone you can pay up to £800 a month for full livery, yes, the same as an expensive mortgage. Which is why I don't own a horse, but share. Sigh.

What you're describing costs £165/week at my old yard in South Bedfordshire, they don't have the outdoor jumping facilities that your current yard does (though they do have 3 indoor schools). Tack "only" gets cleaned once per week as well. I say "only" as my tack gets cleaned about once per month, when i get round to it !
