First of all it was fun as I was supposed to be working, any friday not at work is fun. My sister very kindly lent me Spot to do some jumping on at Dorset. My lorry was very good as it hasn't moved for 3 months and it started on the first turn of the key - isolator switches are fabulous things. Unfortunalty there was a death on the way as a pheasant ran underneath my lorry.
The people coming in the opposite direction must have laughed as me and my sister were sat screaming in the cab as I did it like this
My sister Cath was already there with the love of Spots life, Floyd and she was banned from talking as she went past my lorry in case Spot heard her and worked out Floyd was here. Floyd had a good weekend, he was third in the 1.10 Derby and won an amateur class.
I met up with Lec and Spottedcat who were both running around drinking champagne in celebration of having a lovely jump round a Newcomers each.
I first off all went in the .90m Unaff Derby in the main arena. It was lovely, we were jumping round beautifully. Everyone kept getting eliminated at the second part of the double after the bank as it had a ditch under it, but Spot just popped thru. Then we were nearly at the end of the course jumped a hedge downhill and he ran on a bit into a double of planks, went to shorten in front of it and his back legs overtook his front and we skidded thru the first part.
He ended up sat on his bum and I was about to step off backwards when he got up again, I got a round of appalause for staying on. He popped thru it really nice at the second attempt
Derby
We then went in the .85m Open and he had one fence down, but as it was single phase I got to do the JO as well.
