Hello all. I have been asked to join our hunt fund raising committee and was looking for ideas. We are a small grass roots hunt with not much 'cash to splash' but have a keen core group of supporters.
Ideas already thought of:
Barn dance/Celidh
Hog roast
Bonfire party
Fun ride
Promise auction
Any other ideas gratefully received!
Thanks

Hmm last summer all the guys in my office came in their gfs/wife/sister's clothes to raise money for aids research, might be an idea, will definately give plenty of laughs :p
What about a car boot maybe, or summer bbq?

What about Hound Exercise on Bikes followed by brekkie. It happens every morning without fail during the summer, so why not charge your followers a fiver to join in and then serve them a bacon buttie when they eventually straggle home. The Fitz did it last summer and it was the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Or a Hound Sponsorship scheme - all it needs is a competent photographer and someone computer literate to make a certificate up.

We also tried Hound Racing for the first time last summer, quite simple - you just need some people to build a low course of jumps, the local rotary usually can run you a tote in return for a small donation, then you sell food and run a bar.

A Car Treasure Hunt round Fitz country was organised as well, was a fun and cheap job to work out some taxing clues to send them round, before they came back for food and drinkies.

One other idea would be a 'pub of the month' type event (doesn't have to be as often as monthly, think the Southdown & Eridge whose idea it was must just be pissheads!) - essentially find a pub that is willing to lay on a hunt supper or hunt breakfast at a deal price, add on a few quid profit and enjoy the fun.

Our local CA committee are also looking to do a kennels tour and barbecue, but that rather hinges on whether that is something that most of your subscribers haven't done before.

I'd try to steer clear of things like pleasure rides and ODEs as you will need outlay on portaloos and medical cover which eats into your margins.

That should get you some brownie points with your hunt supporters club chairman or alternatively get you expelled as that gobby newbie that came in here trying to change everything....
