We have a new member of the family, a 15h quarter horse for my son. She is absolutely delightful, kind, good in traffic, 100% to hack out alone or in company....however she has this funny little habit of swinging her head to the right as she walks, and then, after a few steps, to the left. Looking behind her, but only just. She did it when I tried her, so its not the new rides round here bothering her.
I've never had a horse do this with me. Its not serious, and it does reduce if I have a contact, so is most marked when we are slopping along on a long rein. We have ridden her in a friends school and she doesnt do it there at all.
Any advice? Maybe if I ride her with a contact she will forget to do it after a while?
