After weeks/ months of trying to cobble together a bridle that fits my boy, I've decided to have one made... (his head is somewhere between a full bridle (but this has a too short throat lash and too small browband) and an Ex full (Cheek pieces too long)... Has anyone had a bridle hand made? Don't want anything fancy Dark Brown Leather with a flat caveson and browband and a slip head so I can convert when necessary. Must be nicely made as I want to use it for showing (hence the need for the double)... Oh and in the North West would be nice...

Ta in advance

I had to cobble one together for Fany because of very similar problems, sorry no answers but as I am also in NW so will follow this thread and see who you get! If that is okay, I really would like a nice one for her instead of bitsa.

Risely Saddlery online, you can order up each piece in any size. It's lovely leather and lasts. I have a Coloured with an Extra Full length head, full width nose and an extra full brow band, his bridle came from there (my local saddlery) and they even offered to have the Extra Full Noseband altered to fit him perfectly.

Going to suggest the same as some others: get it in bits. Xfull headpiece and browband with full sized cheek pieces. Many saddlers and brands let you buy the bit seperately.

I've tried different bridles mixed together and am having difficulty with the widths of the leather (all the bridles I already own is either sabre or albion and unfortuanately different sized bridles in these ranges are different widths of leather). So I am having one made. I've found 2 places now (thanks to lea 480) both in warrington so will have a chat with them..
