Hi all,
Thought I'd share a story with you about my hamster, Mayhem (AKA Hemmy).
He is my first hamster and I'd not had him long. I got him out for a fuss and noticed a lump on his bum, it looked red and sore so I dispatched OH to Google "hamster lumps" while I decided to bathe the lump with cotton wool in some salt water.
As I bathed it, it started to swell and got to the size of a Malteser! By this time, I was a bit panicked! OH had seen a vets helpline number online a bit like NHS Direct for pets, so I called them.
I called the helpline and told the nice veterinary nurse-lady on the helpline the tale. She listened very patiently and then said very calmly "yes dear, they're his testicles" I'd only been bathing the hamster's balls!!
As it happened, the other one appeared the next day! He's never been quite the same since though!
