After deciding to send our event mare to stud this year due to oesteoarthritis of her knees ending her carreer , we have been offered a stallion on loan to compete by the chairman of our riding club , she described him as naughty

and he lived up to the desription with knobs on!
hes rising 6 , coloured by the mathmatician out of a tb mare , he stands 16 hands but rides like a 13,2 , all bounce and balls!
hes very short coupled and has good movement
his owner has admitted hes far too much for her , so on i climbs , (in his paddock as theres no school , oh joy i thoght !)
and gently applied leg , one spectacular rear , a few bucks on spot and lots of napping to gate, after 5 mins of gentle insistence we managed a wobbly bucking sideways crab trot round field , after that he settled , was very green , had a canter ( no stearing but we managed

) then i popped him up to a cross pole of about six inches , whoopee he thought and went 4ft in air over it then bucked in general direction of gate , but no probs hes a predictable bunny so off we went in nappy trot again
then its hubbys turn , stallion thought hey ho , heres fun coming and did his level best to take hubby to gate and stay there lol , but after an initial period he manageds to get him in walk around field then trot with a full sized nap each time he neared the stables ,
so , we are taking on loan one full up stallion who has had mares , who thinks work is boring and has every pony trick in the book lol
p.s hes being gelded next week, and we hope to start with him mid may
p.ps hes for my hubby to event.. tee hee , i,ll have video camera at the ready
