Just wondering what the furthest hacking you've been on is. I went for the longest one yet today (im sure it will be nothing compared to some but was great fun) which took me 3 hours and probably around 20 miles with gallops included. Turns out my pony would much rather gallop infront but follow behind for the rest of the way!

Must plan out some more routes :) just wish I lived somewhere with more scenic hacking!

Anyone else?

Hmm, not very far at all.. probably 10 miles.. was on a slightly nutter ex racer, forgot the route included going through a racecourse (the lane cuts through it) although apparently he remembered because he was an absolute tit from that point on! Whoops..

40 miles, it was an Endurance ride though . Friend and I used to venture most fridays for at least 4 hrs, we covered between 20/25 miles.

These days its more like 10 miles.

Our longest was seven hours - I had a bit of a sore bottom after that! I looked at our route when we got back and estimated (with a piece of string ;) ) that we'd gone about 23 miles

Ellie loves our hacks; it's nice sometimes just for the two of us to go and be together - proper 'us' time. Haven't done it for a while, but we've just moved to the bottom of the Ridgeway so I feel another epic hack coming on once the ground gets a bit better!

About 3 hours. I planned for us to do one today but I have this horrid cold so I have slept instead.

It's so special to get out with my best girl for company.:)

Me and dafthoss were out for 7 and a half hours last weekend :D We only covered about 20 miles though - obviously the snow was a hinderance in places and we whiled away probably half an hour schooling in an indoor arena and had a couple of brief tack changes...

I've done 20 mile return trips to showjump in summer (before I had transport :D) and similar length sponsored rides / hacks. Hoping to do some epic hacks come summer though :D

Impressed!! (bows in reverence to a superior being):D:D

About 7 hours. Up and over the Long Mynd in Shropshire following the longest of the 'Ride Shropshire' routes. Got lost at one point, ended up in the middle of the golf course, much to the (genuine) delight of a couple of golfers.

I said: "oops, sorry I'm lost. Where's the bridleway please?"

They thought : "hello girlie in tight jodphurs and t shirt on this nice hot day. do stay and chat for a while"

They said: "it's over that way me dear"

As long as I can attatch a cushion to my saddle then yes :D and I can bring some food 'cos its hungry work trying to aviod being decapitated by a tree :p

Yer, I'll be putting a couple of seat savers on too :p

We could bring D as a pack pony - he could carry a hamper with lunch in it :D:D:D

The longest I have done from our yard is only about 21/2 hours, but hope to do some longer ones this summer.

I did do about 5 hours in France once, up a mountain! We didn't really do much fast riding as the route was pretty treacherous, with sheer drops either side. But the horses knew their way and were very sure footed, and the scenery was spectacular!! (it was nearly 40 degrees, though!!)

12 miles one way went hunting all day then 12 miles back (long time ago with very fit horse) then the same hack for hunter trials round Ladock did 2 classes then home again.

Never had any transport years ago:(

Gosh, I don't know. Think I clocked up over 30km doing trec before. I learnt my lesson, pairing with someone you chatter with instead of read maps with = ending up in a nearby town :o

Our regular routes at home are all between 4km and maybe 10km, though we could go further if we wanted.

Not sure of distances but I've spend 5 hours in the saddle before... I do have a tendency to get lost though

Oooh - you're not far from me then. I would love to ride the ridgeway, only have a fairly unfit pony at the moment, but looking for people to hack out with. Where are you exactly? PM if you prefer. :)

7 hours - but we were crossing from argentina to chile on the adventure of a lifetime - we rode 3km upwards as well as 150km in 6 days!

It really was, best trip ive ever done (plus a riding safari in Namibia which was completely different but also awesome). I rode the most amazing horse, who left the others for dead when we hit altitude.

I would happily ride for hours now, my horse is an energiser bunny, but won't hack well alone and I have no friends...i miss long hacks!

My friend and I did a holiday with our horses a couple of years ago and did 54 miles in 3 days the longest being 26 miles which took about 8 hours. Was great fun but we were all pretty tired! We're planning on doing it again with our new boys.
