just thought i would give anyone interested a little update.
Digby was naughty again the other day and tried to run off down the road with me the other day again....although he ran past the juction towards home and then slowed down so i stoped him......its wierd he doesnt bolt just canters off-which frightens me as that is the one thing i hate (the feeling of being gotton away with) but at least i didnt get into such a bad situation..and i turned jhim round and gave hima good kick and trtted him back to where we had come from.
On a better note i hired an arena (the one down the road now doesnt do hiring-which is bad news iv only used it once but it would have been so handy now) so i had to travel.
I just wanted to do some jumping, we did some trot poles, then a pole to a cross, then the same with another corss 2 strides after...he finds it hard to keep going and together/stright through those 2 strides so its obviously a bit uch atm for him- so was a good test to see what he was like...he did it nicely mind you.
Then i took the second part away and made the fence after the pole a spread the front being a cross pole then the back rail was set at 3ft ....(i would have made it smaller but after trying him they were happily doing this same exercise at 3ft3..and he needs something big enough or he doesnt ping) and he jumped that twice very nicely
its so different to riding millie as he a real srping in his step and his shoulders really ping up-you can really feel it
so we then left it at that...we didnt want to tire him and my mum who is building the fences and me dont really have that much experience of putting up set distances etc-and we can practise set things once i have had a lesson.
couldnt ride him yesterday as i was working and cant today as its too foggy
which is very annoying.
just thought some of you may like to know.
