going to local competition at weekend.

No mention of what rules they are run under. as its dressage and sj, presume dressage will be BD.

My horse doesnt like rubber boots against his sides, and thus I bought a pair of (Cheap) leather chaps few months ago to go to local competitions.

Do you think it would be ok to wear them, or will i have to invest in some gaiters?

Surely leather chaps are gaiters? well if they look like boots at the top?

Gaiters do up at the back and have a rounded top and chaps do up at the side and are straight across the top. So the difference is noticeable.

hi, if its a local competition they probably wont mind- they're stricter with affiliated.. but most unaff's are run under affiliated rules, but not as strict if you get what i mean... a bit more casual... does this make sense. (in other words u can probably get away with wearing ur chaps- and they definitly wont elliminate u or anything tragic like that) x

following on from the description above....

what would you class these as?

chaps?

cant really see a zip down the side, and they are sort of shaped at the top?
