was diagnosed with a fracture on one side of his sacrum after his return to France

Espoir de la Mare, other French horse withdrawn during the olympics was diagnosed with tenosynovitis (sp) of the flex tendons.

According to the French instances both horses are due back into action after several months of rest...

have to say the competion wasnt the same without a full strength french side.....

Def not full strength as the french acknowledged the fact that Espoir's injury did happen during the pre-olympic prep... Stupid of them to have shipped the horse all the way to HK

good point well presented! by the way i saw the delightful kevin staut last week at a show i went too. he should have been an eventer he rides so beautifully and bounced up so easily after his horse went arse over tit in the grand prix!!

well there does always seem to be a girlfriend in tow, even when they turn out to be ex girlfriends they are still trailing behind him...

yeah but he is probably worth running after, rides, reads (has a degree i believe in literature) and cooks. the man of many peoples dreams!

Hate to get back to OP (sorry L

) but thanks for update on GdS - what's the lungeing story, hadn't heard about that? Hope he's back next year, class horse/jockey, good for the sport...

he was being a bit of a spastic when he arrived, fit event horse and all and alegedly had a bit of a moment while being lunged and slipped. according to my information it might even have been the same day when he got frightened in his stable by thuunder/fireworks/both and slipped again. shame though whatever appened.

no burghley too poor, no blenheim got another job for it, no weston who would want to go, but i am doing reports from boekelo and pau for someone so not entirely dismayed!

yes, the first report that came out was that he'd fallen over while being lunged, which later changed to the "fell over in the stable during monsoon/thunderstorm and groom didn't bother telling rider" story, which i do NOT believe.
a top groom, with 1 horse to look after not the usual 4 or more, wouldn't forget to tell something so important imho!

Are you going to Ligniere? Do you know anything about it? Thinking of going if Bumble goes, can cadge a lift off her. Otherwise sunny Aldon in lorry withy no internal lights or heating
