Just to let others know its started!......... bins have just taken off in the garden, it will be hitting Glasgow in twenty minutes, and over on the East in an hour!
A tree has just landed on a car in the village closing off one of the two main roads out of the village We have had it pretty bad here all day I had a lesson on my 5yr old this morning and she very nearly had me off 4 times in the first 5 minutes.
It's absolutely vile here. No damage so far but the trees are flailing around and the driving rain is horizontal. Have tried to secure everything as much as possible.
We got the rain this morning (central scotland) then the rain beggered off for the afternoon and now its back. It was fair windy enough this morning riding out and I am so glad I was only hacking the horses today, I would have been blown off my horse up the gallops today! At work we have 2 trees down and all the branches of another leaving a very odd looking stick standing in the field!
And then I got home from work about 4.15pm to find the roof half off of one of my stables and the back wall of one of them caving in! So everyone has been rearranged yet again to get the one out the stable with the dodgy back wall. The one without a roof will be fine, he may just get a bit soggy but he is a shetland - he will cope
I am SO looking forward for all this to die down so I can start rebuilding!
That was feckin awful! No power since a short time after I posted comment. It's finally back on now, obviously. 3 trees down on our power lines, several trees down on our road (the foresters have never been so busy ) and a tree (still) down across the farm road. One paddock fence flattened by a huge branch, and electric fence down in 5 places, squashed! 2 hysterical kids in back of car screaming as branches were landing on the road. And a partridge in a pear tree!!
I hate the wind, it's frightening. Hope you're all ok!
