Hi all,
After having to take out 4 heaped wheelbarrows of soggy wet muck today after another week of the yards poor mucking out which consists of leaving all of the wet and half of the poo in the stable it seems (going back on DIY soon) I decided to look at my horses hooves after hearing a friends horse got thrush on their feet after having the same issue with a badly mucked out stable.
3 were fine but her front left foot had a section that was white and gooey with sort of stringy bits hanging off... It was half hidden under feather which explained why I hadn't seen it until having a proper look (still feeling like a bad mum though!) It doesn't cause her pain, she's completely sound and wasn't bothered in the slightest by me thoroughly hibiscrubbing and hypocare spraying it.
Have attached a link to the album where you can see 2 photos, one before and one after me having cleaned it (sorry about the pictures being upside down, i'm not sure how to change it)
Have put her to bed on a new, clean and dry bed and will clean it again tomorrow but i'm not sure whether to call the vet or not. I'm thinking it might be fungal because of the stringy bits but I have no idea... not seen anything like it before.
Could anybody help? Anybody have an idea what it could be?
Any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you!
