Has anyone had any experiences with this stallion.I quite like the look of him have visited his stud page and like what i see.Im considering covering my native type mare next year i did want a cremello stallion but have since come across this stallion and like what i see.Would he cross well with a cob mare?? My mare is 15 hands quite chunky quiet to ride very lazy lacks impulsion when ridden so would like resulting foal to have more rideability Would like something a bit bigger.and temprement would be a must she has a fab temp she's such a poppet.She has very good conformation.
 
Dont have any experience with this stallion but he certaintly looks very nice. Resulting offspring should be more forward going but genetics are a funny thing. I have a cobby coloured mare WBx unknown who I put to a coloured trakhaner stallion last year, and resulting colt is georgeous and finer but his mane now looks like its taking after the unknown side of the mares breeding!
 
Yes my mare is of unknown breeding her father has irish draught in him he was 16.1 now deceased.the dam is 13.3 so a variety of sizes there and i dont know how big the grandparents are.Yes he looks a nice type of thoroughbred and his conformation looks good to me although im no expert.I want to stick to something pure-bred as in not to complicate things too much so thought a tb would be perfect for her
 
I have a foal by my welsh D stallion out of Beltaines half sister. (Full TB) He is a really nice type with bone and quality and a very quiet temperament. He was given Highest Score event foal at the Writtle Futurity. He also scored the highest vets mark of 9.5. I would have thought the covering would work well.

He is v v nice foal cundlegreen.I really like the look of ganton beltain and think he would complement my mare very well as she is a native i think the cross should work and i wouldnt be complicating the cross either by putting her to a pure-bred.How would you say your mare was riding wise cundlegreen?
 
Hi,
I have a friend who bred a corking colt foal by him this year, the mare was ISH, by Cruising. The foal really does say "look at me" when you see him.

I leased the mare to put to my stallion.She was 16 when I got her two years ago, so no idea how she was riding, although I was told she did BYEH classes many years ago.
 
Hi Crazycoloured I was there when Beltaine was born near Melton Mowbray Leics. His dam Fair Splash was the most delightfully natured horse you could meet. They tend to be good to handle too from her.
The breeding mares around are mine including Ganton Redstart who's being ridden these days. Beltaine was one of the last of the line from George Coombe - we used the same line to cross with our Welsh Cob Derwen Red Marvel. i.e. Welsh Part-Bred stallion Ganton Rufus, (full brother to Redstart) now twenty in Devon and a getter of jumpers and eventers (Celtic Connection, Miss Rufus Fox, Shadow Chaser + Show horses). As a yearling Beltaine would loos-e jump for fun around the indoor school at Sanham. George (who died in 2004) was thrilled when he also went to be a stallion with Trudy Goulding. It's a great jumping line with the right training (as with any horse of course). There have been showjumpers, show horses, eventers, hunters and point to pointers from this line since 1939. I guess I'm the archivist of 'the old orginal mare's' line!
