gap year - working with horses?

Hi i was wondering if anyone could give me any advice. I am going to take a gap year after finishing my A-levels and would like to get some experience working with horses, possibly get a working pupil place. was wondering how people would advise i should go about this and what sort of things i could do?

When I had some time between uni and my first job I just emailed lots of people and waited for replies. What sort of place did you want to go to? I know of a dressage yard that accepted me and take on lots of working pupils every year. PM me if you want more details. I actually googled all the top riders and emailed them and got a really good response. Stupidly though because most wouldn't let me take my own horse I decided not to go. Regret it heaps now though.
