A choice of meadow hay & HorseHage, fed adlib (he eats more if he has a choice), Spillers High Fibre cubes, bran & AntiLam. If he drops weight then I replace some of the high fibre cubes with Spillers Slow Release cubes.

Having rung every feed merchant and spoken to my vet at length mine is now on Topspec feed balancer, Topspec cool condition cubes, Topspec alfalfa chop and soya oil. (I also feed coligone)

This has been the best so far, no cereals at all, very low in starch and high in protein/oil and fibre.

Lots and lots of fibre! He has top quality haylage, ad lib. Also FibreGY which is excellent chaff, A&P C&C, he is an extremely poor doer but has major issues with cereals/starch, beet, which he seems to be off at present, and loads and loads of carrots/sprouts and other fruit /veg. He also has a horselix feed in a tub, luckily sugar is never an issue with him. He is also on Coligone, which has done miracles for him and on which he will stay for life, he is 19 next year and is in the best condition he has been in since we bought him in very poor condition.
