Thank god I saw this have just had to tell friend who is 3 miles away from the event.

the girl who events my horse left the yard at 6am this morning and was nearly there when she found out at 8.30am!!

Ditto, was more than half way there and had a txt to say cancelled! Think they are still hoping to run Adv and Int classes over the weekend.

I went up there this morning to watch a friend round the novice, or so we thought (its 2 mins away.) I have to say, the ground looked completed trashed already and very deep, which is surprising considering everything else round here seems good. Spoke to poor Ruth Edge, who had come all the way from Cumbria. Fingers crossed she and everyone else can get some runs tomorrow.

Well I've just read that it was cancelled due high wind. Had simply presumed it was the ground because it looked like a quagmire. My guess is that really they are trying to save the ground for the bigger classes tomoz, so hopefuly MDM will be fine!

It was really windy today - I was jumping on our school which is about 15 mins from Gatcombe, at the bottom of a hill and I couldn't use any fillers. Plus there was one hell of a hailstorm at about 9.30!!

Not surprised they cancelled.

I got txt at 8.30 while on the way saying it was cancelled due to the wind - got a call from a friend who was already thre saying it was really wild and the show jumps were blowing everywhere. She had to be towed in and was waiting to be towed out again - grim!!! Ground would have been ok, it always is there...
Gutted though, running a horse 1st time N which I want to sell and I had worked so hard to get him ready!! All dressed up and nowhere to go, and couldn't even divert to go SJ as nothing on anywhere!!

I was half way round walking the course when they announced it was cancelled. The going on xc wasn't that bad, it was cancelled because the showjumps wouldn't stay up long enough to jump! They were fighting a losing battle, they were falling down quicker than they could put them up! The SJ arena was just a pile of poles!

As we were all dressed up with nowhere to go I found some local dressage to go to! Not quite the same adrenaline buzz, but better than nothing!

Hope tomorrow runs for those that are going. I was going to go and watch but no sure whether that will just make me feel even more gutted!!!!!

I was in the secretary's box when they said it was cancelled. We had just been walking the sj course (well trying to as all the jumps had fallen down). I felt really sorry for everyone who had travelled a long way. We were very lucky as we had travelled approx 15 mins to get there so it wasnt too much of a pain for us. it was such a shame as the going was perfect thursday night when my sister walked the xc course.

With regards to the day before dress and sj for the novice they ran it as a combined training and gave prizes etc.
