Well im some respects you have to look at it as a leaning curve for us both.
Started off with the dressage and he warmed up great so was looking foward to the test!! Went in and did his stuff and got 35.7 so very pleased!!
Then warmed up for the SJ was a little worried when he stopped at the oxer twice but put it down in front and he popped it so went in and did a lovely round to have 2 down!!
Then XC, thought it was a lovely course but when we were hearing the commentary it was causing lots pf problems! So set out not very fast i dont think over 1, 2 and 3 nicely. Hit 4 an upright gate right angles to a hedge which he also got a bit close to then flew through number 6 a open rail on an angle 2 strides to an open rail corner to another rail on 2 stride then 7 and 8 nicely 9 another combination fine if not a little hairly think they said he forgot to pick his front legs up!
then 10 well 11 a bounce jumped that a little long so pinged over the wall after on to another hedge another wall which he hit then a skinnie rail out if a wood then the water!! Have had a few issues with water so rode quite strongly with one hand off the rain hitting him - so to my relief jumped in not all that stylishly i think but then the step out not sure what happend but next think i knew i was on the floor eating mud with a very painful arm and song with a chunk out of both knees - later found out hes nick the tendon sheath as well. So i get some brain tests and think i got my odd and even numbers mixed up!
and a dressing on my arm!! would like to thank holly and jancis at this point as they were watching the whole thing and were great telling me waht was going on with song! heard them call for the horse ambulance ahh but he was alright and wisked of to the princess yard!! Lol and me to the doctors tent for another dressing and to have the stud hole washed out!
After all this a friend came back with us in the lorry and we went to pick song up from the yard - fully sedated with a robert jones like bandage on so he couldnt bend his knee, poor boy.
So hes home now and being seen by the vet for another feww days so they can change the bandage and look at the other knee and give him antibiotics.
Hes on box rest for 10 days and now work for about 6-8 and well me im signed off my the doctor from eventing for the week so no keysoe for me and gogs, and obviously no weston for me and song!!!
So all in all been a pants season for me and song and alot worse that then one previous so i think we will do as were told and stick novices from now on until we have enough points to go interdiate.
And some picture of the star of the show - not to gorey!
