There's a yellow warning out for torrential rain in the west tomorrow, storm Antoni, first of the season to be named.

I'm supposed to be there on Sunday but I'm not convinced I'll be going after the expected rain on Saturday in my little-ish car ...

Sounds like we might be diverting and having a day wandering round cheltenham instead - i love gatcombe but associate it with sunburn and panama hats - not wellies and getting tractored off!

I booked Mission Impossible as soon as I saw the forecast and I don't even want to see that film. Sorry about your trip to Gatcombe.

I was dithering about nipping down for the Sunday after reading this thread - I've never been to Gatcombe.

All XC off today due to the rain, and plenty of reports of difficult conditions for just walking in the park, and 4x4s getting stuck in the car park even earlier on in the day.

It's on with a reduced program for tomorrow, but people who are there today wonder if it can really run. Such a ruddy shame.

I've decided not to go on Sunday after seeing this morning's statement. It's a long enough journey for me without the fun of getting towed in and out in my little car.

I love Gatcombe so it's a real shame but there's hopefully always next year! I'm going to see Barbie instead 🤣

And bear in mind there’d will probably be quite a few withdrawals. It’s a hilly difficult course without it being really muddy.

A friend was there yesterday to steward and she said it was like The Somme. Disappointed not to be going as meeting friends there but going out for lunch with one of them instead, but so sad for the organisers and competitors.
