Do gatehouse helmets come up the same size as say a Charles Owen?

I have no where near me to try it on so I want to order one and send it back if I need to.

I'm usually a 55cm in Charles Owen.

Any help much appreciated ?

I fit in CO hats (in the main, tho not all) but the only Gatehouse that ever fitted me was the original RXC1 - when I went to replace it 2 yrs later the fit had changed.

Usually you cannot return hats.

You won’t have much luck sending one back, most places don’t allow that.

I’m the same size in Charles Owen and gatehouse, but gatehouse can be fairly different. Different shape and some helmets have a thicker liner. I’m usually a 59 in CO and found 59 and 60 in gatehouse to fit fine (no difference between the two, got the 60 on a whim as it was on sale).

I’d look at gatehouse hat liners and buy a helmet which has a decent amount of replacement liners. Their standard ones for the helmets I have (no longer made) are very thick, so if it didn’t quite fit you could downsize the liner. Or buy their adjustable one (I believe it’s air something) which has a wider range and a dial on the back.

Edit to say you should definitely try them. I would never go back to Charles Owen after having a gatehouse, far more comfortable!

Ive got a Charles Owen skull cap that is a 55. I've just tried on someone's Gatehouse that was a 55 and it was a little too big so think I'm going to go with a 54.

I Have found somewhere that takes returns so will give it a try ?

When I was hat shopping earlier in the year I sent back a few hats with no problem. All tags etc were still on them, I literally tried them on in the house, pretty quickly decided yay or nay and sent them back no problem.
One of the firms I ordered from was Amira equine. Although it doesn’t look liKe they sell Garehouse. Can’t remember the other…probably Redpost or similar.

Repost accept returns and so does townfields saddlery.

It's a shame that not many place stock them so that you can try them with a qualified fitter
