Its really bothering me and I know for a fact you'll know.

Went to a country show last weekend and they had greyhounds/lurchers/salukis chasing a movning plastic bag on a string
*thinks to self how much of an idiot I sound*
The guy doing the demo kept mentioning gazehounds. Is that a breed, a mix of breeds, another name for sighthound?!
I always thought you'd made your name up
:o

PS: Please don't laugh at me :p

Not laughing I promise :) Gazehound is an old fashioned name for sighthounds - I didnt think anyone used it any more TBH, it always reminds me of medieval times! I was going to be Greyhound but someone has already used that///

The hounds you saw were lure coursing BTW, apparently whippets are best at it because they are so small and agile :)

ahh thank you :)
I'm sure you had a different name at one time :/ Before new forum maybe. I hate when people have a name I want, its frustrating isn't it lol.
Lure coursing looks fun, the dogs seemed to love it. Are whippets smaller then lurchers (I'm afraid they all look the same to me. Except greyhounds are taller aren't they)

LOL yes I was Acolyte before, then Splotchy for a while :)

Whippets are about 21" at the shoulder so relatively small, greyhounds should be about 28" at the shoulder (although mine are all much smaller than that!), lurchers can be any size really as they are all cross breds (well, strictly speaking, mongrels I suppose ) :)

Ah yes, now you mention it, I remember you with both names :)
(I'm not a stalker, honest, haha)

Thank you :D No one I know can tell me the difference, I suppose when you own Border Collies, you don't know as much about other breeds lol
