I've just been browsing ebay and came across a Stephens Gel eze wither pad. It interested me as some will know the issues I've had with my horses sore withers. Its a gel pad with a cut out hole.
It seems though its designed for riding, to prevent pressure on the horses wither.
Am i being dumb? My saddle doesn't touch my horses wither and how on earth does it stay in place if the saddle is correctly placed?

It does look handy for my under rug problem though, maybe stitched into a light bib perhaps.

It is intended as a front riser pad, and stays in place under the front/tree points of the saddle due to it's slightly sticky texture.

The cut out area is to minimise bulk in the gullet channel...... it sits over the downslope of the wither rather than on its highest point.

I think it might "creep" sewn into a rug, and some horses don't like the feel of it pulling against the hair if used directly on the skin.

Thank you! That makes more sense. I suppose my obsession and it is an obsession is my horses bald bit which I’d directly on top of the wither so I’d pictured it there 🤦‍♀️😂
