I currently have a sheepskin back pad, and although it looks beautiful I'm not sure on how effective in actually is.

I am looking into getting a gel saddle pad (I heard there was one that you could fit pretty much any saddle on any horse? ) for my horses back as his back will start to change as he is getting older, and also to do with weight.

Is there anyone that has one, if so where can I find one and how effective is it ?

Dont know how good they are but have thought of this myself, you can buy them from Robinsons, we have just got the catalogue and I think there are 2 types in there, they are also on line.

I have an acavallo one its fab :) relatively slim with great impact absorbing properties and also prevents saddle/numnah slip depending on whether you put it underneath numnah or in between numnah and saddle. You can then buy gel rear riser/ front riser attachments which sit on it if he changes shape so its adaptable for whichever way he changes shape without having to buy an entirely new product :). I used a gel rear riser attachment on it when my TB changed shape and it was fab the only prob I had was when i used it underneath numnah on XC and all the sweat caused it to slip so now for xc I use it in between numnah and saddle with no probs :). I also have a gel tail guard by the same make which is great.

PS they also do gel pads with a sheepskin edge if you want to look smart still :p

Hope this helps :D
