Strange question well for me anyway my farrier has suggested i feed gelatine in my horses feed for hoof quality, ive never heard this before so hence the question has anyone ever heard this before? he currently does have biotin extra

I can remember being told as a child that it was good for your nails to eat jelly as it contains (or did) gelatine. Maybe your farrier was also told that?

Gosh I fed it years ago (like 1977) to a horse with really brittle feet, we also rubbed Cornucrescine in to his coronary band.

Some people do feed it, some prefer their horses to be vegetarian. I think there are probably better nutritional options and they aren’t biotin either as a healthy horse should be making plenty of its own.
