Hi just wondering if anyone can help me...
I am looking for a new horse currently and today found one which seemed absolutely perfect apart from the fact that it was only gelded at the end of last season from being a stud horse and eventing inbetween. He is now 10.

I am wanting to event him, will the fact that he has been gelded late affect him in anyway?
Any advice would be gratefully received!

I don't see it being an issue for eventing. But there's no guarantee it will change his behavior with mares. One I knew gelded at a similar age was just the same but unable to actually impregnate a mare. The other was a highly strung show pony who had enough of a personality transplant that my daughter used to do lr showing with him & lr hacks when she was a toddler with in season mares about. So I think I'd look very carefully at how he behaves with in season mares before deciding.
