Depends on the colt and what you want it for. I have mine done at 18 months or so unless there is a particular reason for leaving it longer or having them done earlier. I think if someone has a colt on a livery or small yard then its usually easiest if its done as soon as the testicles are down so that it can be turned out with others without having the possibility of it managing to cover a mare.
