My gelding has what looks like a sore willy, he is happy to get it out and then retract it, but the end of it looks red and sore, along with the top of it. The middle is fine.

Should I be worried ?

Do I treat it or do I leave it, what do I treat it with if I do.

Will it sort itself out ? I dont want to annoy it even further with treating it unless it needs it.

I sometimes squirt baby oil on it to get rid of the flaky stuff, have been doing it for years, not done for about a month though as it has not needed it.

Any advice appreciated.

Give it a clean and see how he gets on.

If it doesnt clear up, I would be worried in case it is the start of something nasty.

Having had a pony with willie problems I would recommend giving the whole area a good wash with very diluted hibisrub and lots of cotton wool, and if he will allow you rinse well with a slow running hose, especially alround the folds and as far up as you can get, my boy used to stand with one leg in the air and top lip rubbing on wall! you couldnt get a hose near his legs but his privates were a different matter!!
