Too many things are annoying me today! The first one being GrayMo! He has pulled a front shoe - they were due to be done anyway. So bringing him back into work tomorrow is a no go unless he pulls the other one. He has also thrown up 2 puffy hind legs from careening around the field yesterday.

Next. Having been trying to get hold of my farrier since a week ago Friday he finally rings me back and says he can't come out until a week on Tuesday. Grrr! On one hand its bloomin annoying as I have 2 missing shoes - one of which really shouldnt be without them! On the other I am pleased that he is getting more clients to keep him busy as he is an old friend and colleague who not long ago moved back to the area.

Next. I'm "attempting" to trach my 7yo nephew to ride but he is the most pathetically spoilt little toad on the planet who walks all over his mother and just screams if he doesnt want to do anything. He has mastered walk but you really need to keep an eye on him as he will slouch deliberately to annoy me. Then in trot - he can rise to the trot perfectly well but when he has had enough he will just bounce around on my poor saint of a pony like an idiot and if you ask him to sit back up he tells you to shut up then screams. He wont brush the pony, wont attempt to tack it up, wont put his rug on or off and as for getting pn and off! Well that takes another 10mins of screaming before his mother relents and picks him up to put him on or off the pony. By the time me and my sister were his age we had ditched the tack and were bombing around with just a headcollar and leadrope! I half want my sister to leave him with me for an hour while she goes shopping so he can learn some bloomin manners around my pony but it would actually be futile.

Next. I can't move the round bale of hay on my own so I am going to have to use just 1/3 of it opened up which will end up bugging the hell out of me.

And my shetland mare has learnt how to bang her stable door ... Grr-arr-errrr!!!

Sorry for the uber rant! Oreo cookie ice cream cones for any who got to here!

Simples - never bring a horse back into work when it's due to be shod, give it the best chance possible by getting it shod first.

Re the farrier, try booking him for your next app't each time he comes.

Tell your sister you have no interest in teaching your nephew unless he wants to learn - which he doesn't appear to.

Hang a coir doormat where the shtland bangs - will prickle her but not injure her and will muffle the sound. Oh, and don't react to her.

Feel free to have my share of the Oreo icecream, I'm going to have another strawberry lager:D

Thats the annoying thing about the farrier - he was booked for Monday just gone, cancelled it the week before with the promise to get back to me with a day later in the week - which he never did - so the horse should have, in theory, been shod for 6 days before coming back into work.

Might get the mat for the door tomorrow though! Good thinking Batman!

Yep totally agree, have a bottle of wine and it will seem better. We all have days like that where everything is a nightmare! Oh and ditch the nephew, I'd probably have drowned him by now so you can give yourself a HUGE pat on the back for being so patient!

Annoying about farrier. Tell him u need definite days in future

Nephew I would refuse to
Let him ride any pony of mine!!!!!
